Sunday 21st April saw the first league match of the season in the Somerset Junior Golf South Division. T&P hosted the event with Juniors from Yeovil, Wheathill, Long Sutton and T&P taking part. The competition is teams of 5 playing a qualifying stableford across 3 categories:
Division 1 HI up to 18.4 (18 holes)
Division 2 HI 18.5-36.4 (18 holes)
Division 3 HI 36.5- 54 (9 holes)
There is an overall winner in each category who wins a trophy and the next 4 runners up each get a medal. Points are awarded to each club for those players coming in the top 5 places and at the end of the day the points won by clubs in each category are added up to produce a leaders’ table going into the next match. At the end of this first match Yeovil lead with 14 points, then Wheathill on 13, Long Sutton on 11 and T&P on 10 so you can see it is very close going into the 2nd match on 19th May.
